Our Farmily

Fiona Buckley

  • Fiona, aka Big Mama, wears many hats (and visors) at the farm. From irrigation to caffeination, she anticipates the needs of the crew, the critters, and all plants both cultivated and wild. Creator of an efficient carpentry form dubbed, 'farm style,' she does much of the farm's small repairs and projects without taking any measurements. With patents pending on items ranging from catch phrases to rock bag handles, any strange contraptions or ideas you come across at the farm are probably hers. Fiona’s most important job, however, is her astute grasp of color and her knack for knowing every shade that could be considered “peach” and exactly the moment when it becomes “salmon”.

  • Lily, aka one half of “The Twins”, fled the hot summer nights of Texas to spend hot summer days cutting off grasshoppers' heads (she says a prayer for each one and is sorry!!!) to prevent them from eating too many precious petals. She loves to smell every bloom she passes and assign it to her hierarchy of most to least favorite flower smells (sweet rocket is high on the list, feverfew is low). She also contributes her past life as a wordsmith, lover of crossing things off of lists, and appreciation for a well-organized spreadsheet. When she's not on the farm, she is probably decapitating grasshoppers in her own garden (kidding!), riding her bike, or making an affogato.

Krista Hunsucker

  • You will only find Krista at the farm on Thursdays because her job as a supermodel keeps her jetsetting to Milan, Paris, Tokyo, etc, where she works the fashion runways. She is very modest about her modeling work which she only does for the money, and prefers to discuss her passions such as fly fishing, wine, good food, and animal welfare. To avoid the paparazzi she resides in Ennis, Montana with her dogs, cat, and husband Matt who is a man of leisure. She enjoys farming so much that she drives from Ennis every week to perform hard labor, and works at a local veterinary clinic to maintain her cat pilling sorcery.

  • Arlo is a sweet and complex dog. Some say he is not actually a dog, but a cross between a seal and a piglet. While not assigned, he has taken on the job of carrying the world on his shoulders. He copes with this grave responsibility by tirelessly playing fetch every second of the day. No ball will go lost on this farm so long as we have Arlo to find it.

Arlo

  • Brio came to us with no mousing credentials other than his mother was a barn cat. He interviewed well and we took a chance. Since his onboarding, the rodent population has vanished. If you look for him, you’ll probably find him napping in a sunny spot looking cute and cuddly (which he is). But the second you turn your back he’ll be halfway across the room with a brand new vole chew toy.

Lauren Lenz

  • From dazzling bouquets to inspiring spreadsheets, Lauren creates beauty and order in all that she does. A seasoned flower farmer, Lauren can do in 10 minutes what takes the rest of us 10 hours. In a single day, she will harvest a cooler full of flowers, arrange jaw-dropingly beautiful buckets, coordinate a dozen wedding orders, design a viral instagram post, eradicate our peskiest weeds, and use her powers as an empath to create workplace harmony. But don’t get the wrong idea, like the rest of us, she is still, well, a freak. When she’s off the farm, you can find Lauren roaming the trails with Nero, undertaking a complex crafting project, curating the perfect playlist, or dancing the night away.

  • Brooke left oceanfront mycology behind to be one of the best moderately colorblind flower farmers in the valley. She brings a fearless approach to farming, and will not be deterred by the fact that most farm machinery is almost unusable by those under 5’1 . Some of her skills include water manipulation, driving the tractor on her tiptoes, dirty mind reading, weather control, and other sorcery. In her downtime, you might find her tending her own bountiful gardens, making delicious jams and herbal elixirs, or swimming in the pond. If you’re looking to cast a hex, she might be able to help.

Nero

  • Nero, aka Noodle, is the farm's Greeter-in-Chief. He is SO excited to see you and will likely sing you a little song if you pet him for one to two seconds. When he isn’t wagging his entire body or yodeling, he is trying to teach Liam and Arlo that life is about more than fetch. It isn’t going well. If any other dogs want to actually play, please let him know.

  • Sevi is a leprechaun. She acts sweet and demure around humans, but enjoys perpetrating mischief that is rarely witnessed. Don’t leave anything around that you don’t want stolen, she will either eat it or hide it in her crate when no one is looking. She knows how to open car windows and sneak into chicken coops. In the summer she enjoys napping under peonies, sunflowers, lupine, and other shady plants while everyone else is working. Her favorite place in the whole world is an old brown couch. She likes this couch so much she won’t even get off the couch to greet you when you come home. Sevi expresses joy and laughter by hooting. Nothing makes Sevi happier than tackling Liam while he is trying to work.

Liam

  • Liam is the ken doll of the farm. His job is frisbee. He is very sensitive and his work means everything to him. He has almost no sense of humor but he is very diligent, some might say obsessed. Anyone who doesn’t understand the importance of frisbee will receive piercing stares. So long as there is a frisbee, there is a Liam patiently waiting for you to throw it.

Paige Southwood

  • Originally hired to reach items on the top shelf, it turns out that Paige has many skills to offer the farm. Years of past flower farming experience aside, she also has an endless capacity to haul heavy things around and an aptitude for operating machinery. Her skills in marketing come in handy, but not as much as her patient ability to harvest cosmos for four hours straight. We are actually not sure how we got so lucky. In her spare time, Paige likes to light piles of thistle on fire, spend time with her equally tall children, and make skin care products that are the talk of the town.

Mr. Mustache, Sausage, & Fierce

  • By night you’ll find this pussycat trio roaming the fields, adeptly mitigating all of our rodent concerns with joy and delight. By day, you’ll find them literally climbing up your leg trying to get attention. They are friendliest barn cats you’ve ever met and we will know if you try to smuggle one of them home. Several staff members have already tried.
